About the Series

[As seen on Smashwords, link in the ‘A Chance for Humanity: The Beginning of the End’ section]

"Even as a little boy I loved apocalyptic situations and preparing for the worst. Reading about them, watching movies, playing video games, all of it. No matter how hard I searched I couldn't seem to find a zombie (my absolute favorite) apocalypse based in the future with more advanced technologies and a different view of humanity. I feel that at least on some level we need this kind of entertainment because whether we realize it or not, it prepares us for the future. Well, for all you zombie and apocalypse fans out there, it is finally here!" (Patrick)

About the Author

[as seen (mostly) on http://achanceforhumanity.webs.com ]

My name is Patrick Ewing Rupert, (parents either loved Dallas, or loved the New York Knicks), I'm twenty-eight and I grew up in Syracuse, Utah, with my mother and nine brothers, yeah I know, quite the large family. Over the years my family has grown leaving me currently with nineteen nieces and nephews with two or three more on the way, I stopped counting. I started writing when I was 14 and instantly fell in love with it. My mind is never more at peace than it is when I'm writing.

I find it very sad that reading is losing its grip on the world with my generation. I wasn't much of a reader before that time but I moved in with my grandparents one summer (a mere three houses away from my own family), and began reading Robinson Crusoe, what else was there to do living with your grandparents? I fell in love with books and knew that I would never put them back down. Reading is a magical wonderful experience that far surpasses any movie I could ever watch. (Unless of course my book is made into a movie.)

Legalities and Such

“I’m sorry that I did all this without asking first, I’m just tryin to help you out.  You can use that XM8 on me later” :)  {Yes that is a play on the book – so if you’re lost, read it ;)  OK maybe poor play, but anywho}

First, anything written here about this book is copyrighted [either as written word or just the idea thereof] by Patrick E. Rupert [see verbatim copyright notice below, as seen in A Chance for Humanity: The Beginning of the End – with the modification of the copyright date itself], and I am only posting it here under the Fair Use Clause [17 U.S. Code § 107].  Second, if I do not state that miscellaneous information is quoted from Mr. Rupert (except when quoting reviews posted elsewhere), then that information is to be taken as speculation and not as firmacrete fact :P.  I will try not to speculate too much, but if I do, it is just that – my speculations – based on factual information that I have received and am able to disclose/hint at.

Sketches: Drawn by Dan Gonzalez.  Interpreted by Dan Gonzalez.  Characters, images, places, likenesses, weapons (futuristic), ships, colonies, planet-scapes, and other designs are still  © 2012-2015 Patrick E. Rupert.  The words describing the above items still came from his twisted imagination, I (Dan) just interpreted what he was describing to help others visualize what things look like. [As a favor for my boyfriend :P – ok fine, yes I am dating the twisted genius behind the series; but that does not influence anything I may mention in here (namely my review, once I reread the book and write it :P )  Like he said, “get off your high horse you egotistical bastard”.]

This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, smells, and incidents either are products of the author’s severely twisted imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, living, dead, undead, events, or locales is entirely coincidental so get off your high horse you egotistical bastard and move on, this isn’t about you. I don’t even know you. How could I possibly know you?
